If you are a Baby Boomer you had better pay attention. I heard some pretty scary statistics the other day and thought I would share them here with all of you.
Only 1% of Americans (Baby Boomers) will retire financially free.
Only 4% will retire comfortably.
And a Staggering 95% will retire Below poverty level.
Pretty Scary Stuff, RIGHT?
Well I know for a fact even if I didn’t get let go from my JOB that I would of fell into this 95% area. I would barely have enough money to cover my bills!
We all know that traditional pensions ended with our parent’s generation and with social security as Shaky as it is you had better have a game plan set up to retire if you are part off the Baby boomer Generation. SO What is Your retirement plan?
This can be a challenge, especially for many of us who have lost our Jobs, or have had hours cut back because of the economy. Of course many of us have contributed for many years to retirement plans, now that was such a Great idea at the time, our financial advisors told us to go Risky!! Yeh Great Idea, when the economy crashed, guess what went with it. “Yep” “Our retirement funds.”
Planning for retirement is not an easy thing to think about, but you had better start, because it is going to sneak up on all of us Baby Boomers whether we are prepared for it or not.
We are living in the informational age, now with this I mean you can find a good product or service and spread the word, work smarter, work from home! Quit thinking about the way you were taught, that is the “Old Way”
“A Way that Doesn’t work anymore.”
The only way you will be able to retire comfortably, to spend it doing the things that are important to you and not just making do. Is to start leveraging what others have done and secure your future.
